Javier Arizcuren comes from a family of winegrowers from Quel, in La Rioja Baja.
Arizcuren owns plots between 30 and 120 years old, which produce the highest grade grape for making worldclass wine.
All Arizcuren plots are treated organically.
Something unique is always expected from a vineyard that has been known for 3 centuries. This is the Barranco del Prado. Pre-phylloxera free-foot strains of more than 120 years old, planted at almost 800 meters of altitude. A treasure reflecting a disappeared viticulture that allows reaching the highest expression of purity and reflection of the Sierra de Yerga terroir.
Broad and deep nose, concentrated and full, with earthy intensity, lively acidity and layers of black plum, red plum, licorice and wild strawberries. Silky tannins and elegant finish.
